Play Day! 07/27/2008
Our Play Day was VERY fun! Our members rode Halo and Fontana through an obstacle course at the walk/trot. It was really fun and everyone had a great time. We really got to see how well some of our members can ride! Next time our play day will be even better! Be sure to check out the Play Days page to learn more about play days! 3rd Meeting- Great! 07/09/2008
On the 3rd Meeting, members learned how to polo wrap a horse's legs, and how to round pen a horse! Round penning and polo wrapping are both difficult for some people, if any members want to work on their round penning/polo wrapping skills, please contact a director to help you get better at it. Second Meeting- Accomplished! 06/21/2008
Our second meeting went pretty well. We did not get as many people as last week. We were expecting about ten members to attend, but only five members were there. It was still a great meeting though! We had each member lead Paulie, a horse that is hard to lead. Luckily, each member was able to successfully lead him! Members also learned the behavior of the horses, and learned the signs of an angry, scared, and relaxed horse! Unfortunately, we won't be having a meeting next week, but we will have a meeting the week after! First Meeting- Success! 06/14/2008
Our first meeting was today, and it was a HUGE success! There were more members (11-12) then expected! We went over all of the colors, anatomy, breeds, and the vital signs today. Haley was so good when we demonstrated how to take the temperature, dehydration, heart rate, and respiration rate of a horse. Next week we hope to get just as many members, and learn more about the horses! Next week the meeting will be on behavior of the horse. We will also be taking more pictures next week of our members during the meeting. |
